Easy Teddy Cookies
Easy Shaped Cookies
These little cookies can be cut into shapes such as ducks, teddy bears, rabbits and
trucks or perhaps something that ties in with a kids’ party theme. They can also be iced if liked, and if eyes are needed small currants can be used – position and then gently push these into the cookie ‘dough’ before baking.
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
4oz soft margarine
4oz sugar
½ egg
½ teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
You will also need
Cookie cutter(s)
Cookie sheet
Parchment paper (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Begin by preheating the oven to 300°F.
Then, grease or line with parchment paper, a baking sheet. Next into a large mixing bowl sieve the flour, baking powder and salt. Now in another bowl cream (beat until light and creamy) together the margarine and the sugar.
Next in a small bowl beat the egg well, then add half of this to the creamed mixture. Now stir in the flour and with a wooden spoon mix until the mixture is even, and stiff enough to cut out. Next on a lightly floured surface roll out thinly, then cut into shapes.
Carefully transfer to the cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until a pale gold color.
Leave the cookies on the baking sheet to set a little before lifting them onto a cooling rack.
