Cheesey Straws.
Ingredients
3oz grated cheese
1 cup (4oz) flour
½ stick (2oz) butter
1 egg yolk
A pinch of salt and pepper
A touch of cayenne pepper
Cooking Instructions
First put the flour the grated cheese, the salt, the pepper and
the cayenne into a large mixing bowl and stir together; then rub
in the butter. Next add the egg yolk and mix to a ‘dough’.
Kneed until smooth. Now lightly flour a suitable surface, and roll
the dough out until it’s about a quarter of an inch thick.
Next cut into a strip that’s about two and a half inches
wide, then into fingers of about a quarter of an inch wide.
Carefully transfer the fingers to a baking sheet and bake for 20
minutes at 350°F.
